What is Intradermal Pigmentation?

Permanent cosmetics, or micro pigmentation, is a form of tattooing. Permanent Cosmetics can help individuals to enhance certain facial features, such as eyebrows, lips and lashes. Small needles inject color into the skin, resulting in permanent pigmentation to the desired areas. The procedure is also used for scar-camouflage, to even out pigmentation or replenish facial hair that has been lost due to illness or surgery. The procedure is relatively quick and offers permanent, immediate, natural-looking results, though it may a few weeks to see the full and final effect. It is also important to remember that this procedure, as with any tattoo, may fade with time and therefore require a touch-up treatment at a later stage.
Demanding schedules, occupational requirements and lifestyle needs lead many business professionals, entertainers and athletes choose intradermal cosmetics as a way of looking their best all the time. Also, this procedure is perfect for individuals with oily skin who shed makeup easily and people who are allergic to conventional makeup. Any man or woman who needs freedom from daily makeup application is a candidate. The Natural Look also addresses asymmetrical facial features, burn survivors and individuals with skin flaws
You will have a variety of colors available to choose from. Before the procedure you and the technician will choose the perfect placement, and because you are not sedated in anyway you will be able to watch the procedure and can instruct the technician on color placement as well.
Procedures are all performed in the comfort of our fully equipped office by technicians certified by The American Institute of Intradermal Cosmetics. The majority of procedures are performed with a local anesthetic, with an immediate resumption of normal activities The procedure generally lasts a few hours. Follow-up treatments are normally shorter.

Any discomfort is minimized with the use of topical anesthetics. A slight swelling and redness can be expected, however these symptoms should not last long. Most patients resume normal activities right away with one to six weeks being the typical time frame for pigments to mature and reach final color.

For the first few days, avoid direct sunlight and do not wear mascara or contact lenses. Do not swim for one week.

The pigmentation will be deep in color the first few days; as you heal, the colors will begin to lighten a bit. This should take about a week or more, depending on the individual. As the skin heals, the cosmetic pigment may change a bit too, as it mixes and settles into an individual’s natural coloration.

Whether you are looking for fuller eyebrows, more defined lips or a camouflaged scar, permanent cosmetics will give you the confidence you need to take pride in your appearance. The results will be permanent and natural-looking, and will enhance your features in a flattering way.

Most health insurance plans do not cover cosmetic procedures.
